Strategic Change Consulting
How do you know it’s time to think about strategic change consulting for your team or organization?
Perhaps the senior leadership team is ineffective, or just stuck when it comes to making decisions or working together. Or there have been so many changes in your organization that the culture is unclear or not aligned with business goals.
That’s when I combine my experience leading change in organizations big and small with my broad toolbox to customize a program that can help you move forward.
This is not a one-size-fits-all experience: After an initial assessment, I’ll tailor my proposal to your particular needs and time frame, designing it so it will have maximum impact on your organization.
To increase the capacity for leadership in your team members, I might call on all or part of these programs I have developed based on my years of experience.
Learning Styles
Clarifying each team member’s learning style is only one part of this engaging workshop. The real challenge for leaders is to influence others, especially those with different learning styles.
Throughout this 2–3 hour session, participants will gain a deeper appreciation of diverse learning styles. In addition, participants will learn how to include, in subtle yet effective ways, the learning styles of others in various situations, including presentations, one-on-one development sessions and project staffing decisions.
Honor the Past, Welcome the Future
Are you or your organization stuck, unable to move forward financially, creatively or relationally? This program provides the formula to get you and your teammates going again, ready to reignite, revamp and revitalize your results.
In an engaging, supportive atmosphere, between 15 and 25 participants will spend a day (or two half-days) discovering operating assumptions and beliefs as well as links between the past, present and future. You’ll see how change has been part of your organization’s past and get energized to work together in a new way to make plans for the future.
What My Clients Say
“Our organization was like being in a muddy river full of debris. Through this session, it was like a net removed all of the debris and a chlorine tablet was added to the water. I may not be willing to drink the water yet, but now I can see.”

“I have never seen a more effective process in which the participants left with peace and appreciation with their past, more clarity and being more settled with the present, and hopeful about the future.”

Executive Presence
“Leadership presence is the assessment others have of our capacity to act powerfully and skillfully in the present moment.”
That idea, which is a quote by the founder of the Strozzi Institute for somatic research and leadership development, is the focus of this short (2 hours to a half day) but effective workshop. Through group participation and experiential learning, I introduce leadership practices that produce proven results. These include:
Learning to use tools that connect brain and gut sensations.
Practicing somatic techniques for shifting moods from anxiety to curiosity.
Increasing awareness of executive presence in others.
Experiencing shifts in your own body positioning for effective action.

“Mary Jo developed a program for a group of women working in philanthropy at my request. It was both personally and professionally enriching. She supported us in developing a sense of community; understanding how we practice leadership “from the middle;” and, perhaps most importantly, understanding ourselves. The tools she introduced have become a part of how I reflect on my practice on a regular basis. I have recommended her to friends and colleagues, and they have been exceedingly grateful.”

“Mary Jo was able to offer a series of exercises and tools that facilitated the growth of our Leadership Circle in countless ways, personally and professionally. We were able to honestly access our strengths and weaknesses and develop plans to deepen our impact. She has also pushed us to lead in ways that are transforming our practice and our interaction with other leaders in the non-profit and philanthropic space. Having done several leadership series across the country, I can say that Mary Jo's personalized approach to building better leaders is among the best. If you are trying to build better leaders, team members, or organizations, Mary Jo Greil can make that happen for you in the shortest time with the greatest value-add.”
