Sophia Cole is a Senior Director of Neuroscience Commercial Enablement for the U.S. Region at Medtronic. She has been with Medtronic since 2005 in progressive leadership roles across several functions.  Prior to Medtronic, she worked at International Paper for nine years in various Information Technology roles. She has hands-on experience in developing and executing strategies, orchestrating transformations, and establishing new organizations that enable operational efficiencies while fostering responsiveness to the business needs. She was Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce “Young Memphis” finalist in 2014 and Memphis Business Journal “40 under 40” finalist in 2013.  

Her purpose in life is to leave a legacy of positive impact on those around her and to encourage and help others live their lives to the fullest, both professionally and personally. She leads and participates in numerous employee resource groups at Medtronic focusing on career development, mentoring and coaching. In June of 2021 she obtained Internal Coaching Certification and is coaching senior leaders to help engage others to unlock their full potential and reach peak performance. She has partnered with Mary Jo Greil in co-facilitating virtual Learning Styles workshops for both non-profit and for-profit organizations.

Sophia has been actively involved in the Memphis community as a member of the board of directors for Memphis Mid-South Affiliate of Susan G. Komen. Prior to being elected to the board in July 2016, Sophia has been an active member of volunteer committees, including Grants sub-committee, National and Local Sponsor sub-committee chair and Race for the Cure committee.  In addition, she has facilitated several Project Management training sessions for new recruits at Memphis AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America).   

Sophia holds BBA degree in Management Information Systems from The University of Memphis and MBA degree from Christian Brothers University.  In addition, she is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is a graduate of Leadership Memphis Executive Program.
